Aaaah! Bad Physics!
"The commercial value of nanotech stems from the simple fact that the laws of physics don't apply at the molecular level."

The somewhat belated
Thursdays Webcomic Ubersoft
Follows a company which produces the operating system "Microsoft Windows" "Ubersoft Nifty Doorways". There office suite contains the spawn of a bunch of drunk programmers and the Evil Boss (Who has the flaming words Boss floating behind him), "Binky the paperclip" (Hey there skipper! Wanna send an email?). The main character is a guy on the help desk whose job is to convince the callers that the problems are either the callers fault or "features" of the program.
The reason I'm linking to it now is the "eerily prescient" moment last week. The characters were beta testing a new game, when they found a bug. Last Tuesday It blew the power out, and left them sitting in the dark, just hours before the massive North American blackout.
I've made a page of the Ubersoft logos that appear randomly on the top of the page.
It updates sporadically, sometimes every day for a week, sometimes nothing for a month.

Also the author makes the even more sporadic Kernel Panic, about a group of techies who argue over the different flavors of Linux they want to install on the sever, while the boss thinks they have installed nifty doorways.

One for the geeks and a game. And this time it's not a case mod!

For part of my degree I researched a little about the growth and uses of artificial diamonds. Personally I think that some of the other uses of diamond are much more interesting that De Beers getting in a tizzy about gem quality ones.

Crypt Raider. I know I've played a game like this before. What was it called? Anyway you walk around, sand disappears when you walk through it, stuff falls down (except you), and apart from bugs, bombs and boulders that's it.
