Ubuntu is a new user-friendly desktop Liunx "distribution which could be perfectly acceptable to hardcore hackers, yet perfectly usable by your average user."

It's built using Debian's philosophy and package management system.

For a short while they will ship you the CDs free.
I'm geting some, so let me know if you want me to forward one to you to save them shipping costs
