Any bets for how much Emma's Suitcase, from the UK Big Brother 5, goes for?
It's already at over 2 grand!

Joel On Software was introduced to me by my rss feeder's Recommended Blogs feature ("Based on your current subscriptions")
Joel is a programmer who worked for some of the biggest names in computing (including Microsoft) and now runs his own softwere company. For this week only you can read an article about Joel that I feel is a good introduction to his site.
Out of Joel's articals , which I have have read, my favourites are probably: why task switching isn't productive, don't start over again, CVs and interviews.

Taking out the 419 scammers
People who are trying to commit advance fee frauds (aka 419) ("give us $100 for a proccessing fee, and I'll give you $1,000,000") often set up fake websites to add an air of legitimacy to their claims. For the next day this site encourages you to visit these sites repeatedly (or use a site that does it for you) to force them to use thousands of time more bandwidth than they expected, which will shut them down or cost them money.

I'd normally have saved this for tommorow, but it's time critical.

First off, Microsoft has released a patch for a serious exploit that's more than a month old. So patch if use IE (or better yet get a better browser).
You can boil them, you can stomp them, you can give them to your kids, but you'll never lose your camera's memory to the theme of "family ness".
Apprently anything short of nailing your digital memory to a tree will not affect the pictures stored on it (some were even recoverable after this).
